​Our research interests

Theme 4: Inventory and Management of Urban Trees​

The fourth research theme aims to improve the inventory and management of urban trees in Quebec. We seek to test a participatory approach that involves citizens in the inventory of private trees, thereby expanding data sets while raising awareness about sustainable management. Additionally, we are exploring the use of drone-based LiDAR to collect LiDAR and hyperspectral data, enabling precise mapping of trees and detailed species classification. The projects in this research theme combine community engagement and cutting-edge technology to provide optimized and sustainable management of urban green spaces.


Evaluate the feasibility of applying the SFI standard at the Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics of Université Laval

Annabelle Poulin's undergraduate project is supervised by Janani Sivarajah and co-supervised by Meagan Hanna, Director of Urban and Community Forestry for Canada at Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). This project aims to evaluate the feasibility of applying the SFI standard at the Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics at Université Laval.
